The World Comes to Napa(TM)


Currently, Napa is known for two things...Great Food & Wine.

It is my goal to not only brand Napa as a place to come for high-end entertainment, but to establish Napa as National/Global Marketplace worthy of top advertising dollars in BOTH the Luxe marketplace where it already has traction, as well as the middle aged/middle class consumer who is the NEW CUSTOMER. If Bottle Rock was any indication, it's safe to say that there is a high level of interest in music from that demographic.

THE WORLD COMES TO NAPA(TM) is the cornerstone of my vision for marketing The Napa Valley.

Scene Around The Valley/Napa Valley This Week

I started Napa Valley This Week as a way to shine a spotlight on the local live music scene. As a performer, a thriving music scene in the Napa Valley means more opportunity for myself and my fellow musicians for playing, and a bigger playground that includes both National touring acts and local musicians is a win-win for both. The Napa Valley Opera House, and the revamped Uptown and Lincoln Theaters brought world class stages to Napa, which have been under-utilized with local talent to date, but with the changes afoot for the Opera House, we will soon see if Napa is able to support a full calendar of Music Events year-round. My bet is that it will be the first of many successes. Scene/Seen Around The Valley expands upon NAPA VALLEY THIS WEEK by covering more charity, winery and culinary events which may or may not include Live Music, but attract a large percentage of the visitors each year.

Winery and Wine Club Events increasingly offer LIVE MUSIC, and the revival of ROCK NAPA, a music festival at Charles Krug, and the on-going sucess of the Mondavi Summer Concert Series leads me to believe that this trend will continue. Charity events like the Napa Valley Wine Auction, Day for the Queen and Wine Women and Shoes also draw visitors and locals alike, and these events are filled with interesting locals and celebrities. Through my participation at these events, I have met celebrities like Rita Moreno and Oprah...The World Comes to Napa!

North Bay This Week/Scene Around The Bay

There are many advantages in expanding the Umbrella of Live Music venues we cover, and this exposure benefits both Napa Residents and Musicians, providing more access to more entertainment, by promoting other places close by where you can see your favorite musicians, and of course promoting Napa to places that already support live music, thus attracting a larger audience of Live Music supporters back to Napa. As a means of generating revenue, it is THESE businesses that would seem to be natural targets for advertising dollars...since it is difficult to provide comprehensive coverage of a LIVE MUSIC SCENE in Napa when you seek to charge Napa venues for advertising, it should be easier to convince these “outsiders” to spend their advertising budget on a MUSIC READY audience such as provided by our listeners.
